2018 Nissan Terra Walkaround Video Reveals Navara Details Inside and Out

Based on a mid-size pickup, the newcomer is a sport utility vehicle in the truest sense of the word thanks to its body-on-frame design. And as you can see from the walkaround video uploaded to YouTube by Autohome.com.cn, the Terra offers enough space for seven people and a lot of performance off the beaten path.

The white painted Terra in the clip, on the other hand, is configured with five seats. On the other hand, this means more space for luggage and shopping bags behind the second row of seats. The high roof line is also handy for installing larger items.

What isn’t as great with the Terra as it is with the Navara is the interior design. Everywhere you look, you can’t get rid of the feeling that Nissan made every trim on a budget. The cabin is dark because most of the dashboards and door panels are black, with the exception of faux metal trim here and there.

One area that the Terra could do better is infotainment. As you can see from the clip, the Connect system with satellite navigation, around view monitor 360-degree camera system, DAB and smartphone integration reacts with delay to inputs that are as easy as switching on the radio. It’s 2018 folks, computing power has come a long way!

Nissan is still hiding with powertrain details, but there is a hint of what the China Spec Terra has to offer. The rev counter reaches up to 8,000 rpm, which is 2,000 revolutions more than in the Navara with a 2.3-liter turbodiesel. This means that the engine in the Terra is the 2.5 liter QR25DE, a naturally aspirated engine with an estimated 183 horsepower.

“Nissan’s LCV business is growing steadily and with our ambitious mid-term plan and expanding product range, we are confident that growth will continue,” said Ashwani Gupta, senior vice president of Light Commercial Vehicles.
