One of the largest cinema chains in the world, AMC Entertainment, is considering adopting Dogecoin (DOGE) for online payments.
Following the announcement that AMC will begin making online payments in Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC) by the end of 2021, company boss Adam Aron asked the community on Twitter whether the popular meme token should also be included.

Do you think AMC should investigate the adoption of Dogecoin, ”Aron said on Twitter, allowing moviegoers to express their opinion on the matter.

The poll, which ends September 22nd, generated many responses, most of which voted for AMC to include the meme token.
So far, almost 69% of people have voted “yes, definitely”. The survey results suggest that the cinema chain may choose to add Dogecoin to their upcoming crypto payment options.
The poll has had nearly 128,000 votes so far, with more than 77% responding positively to the idea of adding the Dogecoin option as another 8.6% supported the idea but said they don’t use the meme coin for payment would.
Only about 23% of the electorate did not support the motion, 7% said it was “not important” and almost 16% thought it was “wasteful”.

Dogecoin’s growing awareness is reflected in the token’s market capitalization of $ 27.6 billion. It hit an all-time high (ATH) in May when the price hit $ 0.75 but is currently trading at around $ 0.2.
Most of Dogecoins popularity is thanks to its prominent proponents like Elon Musk and Mark Cuban.
Already in May, a similar survey was already done by Tesla’s CEO who asked if the electric vehicle maker should start accepting the meme token for payments.

Despite the majority approval, Tesla still hasn’t made the call. Meanwhile Cuba’s basketball team Dallas Mavericks started accepting Dogecoin again march.
