Audi e-tron from China will hit the market in the first quarter of 2021

Shanghai (Gasgoo) – The Audi e-tron, which is built in China, will hit the market in the first quarter of 2021, according to a local media company. The Chinese-made version is expected to cost around 500,000 yuan ($ 76,260), up from target prices of 658,800 yuan ($ 100,480) to 828,600 yuan ($ 126,370) for the existing imported version.

The exterior of the Chinese Audi e-tron remains true to the imported version. As a full-size SUV, the Audi e-tron stands for a sporty exterior design that is characterized by a strong and at the same time slim aerodynamic body. The smooth panels cover surfaces from front to back with several grooves that optimally direct the air flow, such as the lines on the bonnet. Restricted by local laws and regulations, the homemade version still uses conventional rearview mirrors instead of side-mounted cameras.

The rear light has a continuous shape and the shape of the lampshade is very three-dimensional. The “50 quattro” marking on the rear indicates that the performance of the e-tron made in China may be weaker than that of the imported version with “55 quattro”.

The domestically manufactured e-tron is 4,901 mm long, 1,935 mm wide and 1,640 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,928 mm. It is equipped with two electric motors – the one on the front axle has an output of up to 115 kW and 226 Nm, while the rear-wheel drive has a maximum of 172 kW and 314 Nm. The ternary lithium battery with 142 Wh / kg enables a range of 465 km according to the NEDC.

In all likelihood, the interior of the Chinese-built version will inherit the design of the existing e-tron, which sports a full liquid crystal dashboard, two console-mounted screens and a four-spoke steering wheel.
