Avalanche host jets for the first time since December 2019

The Colorado Avalanche return to start a three-game home stand, facing the Winnipeg Jets in their first matchup since 2019. The game begins Thursday at 7:00 p.m. MT.

The Avs have just returned from Chicago where they faced the Blackhawks. Colorado secured victory in a 4-3 overtime thriller and has now had a streak of three games since returning to the ice.

Erik Johnson scored two goals to lead the team while in Chicago Alex Newhook also scored its own. Last, Cale Makar secured an Avalanche victory with the game-winning overtime goal. Nazem Kadri scored two assists while Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and André Burakowski everyone posted one.

The rest of the homestands include matchups against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken, the first time the 32nd franchise has played at the Ball Arena.

The Avs hold a 23-19-5 record against the Jets. When playing on home ice, Colorado holds a 14-7 record against Winnipeg.

The two teams have not played against each other since December 2019, a game in which the Avs lost 7-4 at home to the Jets.
