Crypto firm Blockchain.com joins the series of digital currency exchanges that have recently launched non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces. On December 2, the company announced that it was launching the Blockchain.com NFT marketplace, and select users can sign up for beta access today.
Blockchain.com NFT Marketplace Launches Beta Access
Non-fungible token (NFT) assets have grown into a billion dollar industry and it seems like this technology will be a mainstay in the years to come. With the NFT hype growing exponentially in 2021, a number of crypto asset exchanges have launched NFT markets this year. Well-known exchanges like Crypto.com, Coinbase and FTX have uncovered NFT markets amid huge standalone NFT markets like Opensea and Rarible. Now, Blockchain.com, the financial services company specializing in cryptocurrencies, has announced its NFT marketplace.
“We want to make access to the NFT market as easy as access to the crypto market,” says the Blockchain.com announcement. “With the Blockchain.com NFT Marketplace (in beta) you can browse, buy, sell, and securely store NFTs without ever leaving your Blockchain.com wallet.”
Company releases NFT Explorer
The announcement of the NFT market by Blockchain.com follows the company’s recent acquisition of the Argentine investment platform Sesocio. The acquisition increases Blockchain.com’s workforce to 400 worldwide and there are plans to establish a physical presence in Latin America. Starting today, people will be able to sign up for beta access to the company’s new NFT marketplace, which will allow users to “Buy, Sell, and Store NFTs” in their unprotected wallet from Blockchain.com.
The company has also launched an NFT explorer that provides information about non-fungible tokens such as the current price, reserve price, information about the current NFT owner, and the last sale price. Blockchain.com’s NFT explorer information comes from Ethereum-based NFTs hosted on the Opensea NFT marketplace. The Announcement blog post also gives the reader some insight that gives individuals step-by-step instructions on how to purchase an NFT on Blockchain.com’s marketplace.
