JUNIOR Achievement (JA) St. Lucia once again offered the students of the JA Economics for Success (E4S) program a platform to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills at the DASH Color Run Inc. Innovation Camp on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
Junior Achievement St. Lucia is this year’s beneficiary of the proceeds of the DASH Independence Color Run 2020 and the new title sponsor of the Innovation Camp.

The Innovation Camp offers an experiential learning environment for students based on real business situations. The camp takes place at a time when innovation rules the world; To teach young people how important it is and how they can use the design thinking process to solve problems.
Forty-nine students attended the Union Orchid Farm, accompanied by JA Teacher Advisors from Corinth, Stanley Jon Odlum Memorial, St. Joseph’s Convent, Choiseul, Castries Comprehensive, Beanfield, and Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary Schools. The day began with an icebreaker presented by Robberta Rose, Dash Director, and supported by mentors from the corporate sector, government and other DASH directors. In six intensive hours, the participants dealt with teamwork, networking and discussions in order to find a solution to the challenge of DASH Color Run Inc. and to pitch it in front of a three-person jury.

The partnership was conceived in December 2019 when the Directors of DASH Color Run Inc. initiated a dialogue with Junior Achievement Executive Director Agnella Joseph to explore possible support and collaboration. After the discussions, both parties unanimously agreed that the pillars of the organizations were aligned, with DASH Color Run Inc. showing their support as the title sponsor of the E4S Innovation Camp 2020 and Junior Achievement as the recipient of the 2020 proceeds. confirmed DASH color run.

The DASH Independence Color Run is an annual, healthy, fun run / walk that celebrates true national pride by promoting health / wellness and strengthening youth. For the past five years, the organization has donated income from the Independence Color Run, raising much-needed awareness and support from business units for the Child Development and Guidance Center, a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive development assessments, early intervention and therapeutic services for children with special needs and disabilities.

As the title sponsor, the organization was responsible for presenting the challenge, providing mentoring, and being part of the camp’s jury.
