Elon Musk thinks he has cracked the Bitcoin creator’s secret

In a recent interview, Elon Musk again denied being Satoshi Nakamoto, but claimed that he knew the true identity of the elusive Bitcoin founder.

In an interview last week Elon Musk claimed he knew the true identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto. The identity of the real inventor of Bitcoin remains a mystery almost a decade and a half after the white paper on the largest and most well-known cryptocurrency was published. Rumors online have persistently claimed that Elon Musk is the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, but Musk has always denied these claims.

As for the interview in question, on the same podcast, Musk had made other baffling claims, including claims of bringing people to Mars before the end of this decade. When asked when SpaceX would land a human on the Red Planet, Musk claimed that in the worst case scenario, it would take about ten years. Musk is known for shooting from the hip, but his latest claims are now attracting a lot of attention from many quarters.

Elon Musk’s guess as to the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto came on an episode of the Lex Fridman podcast. When asked by Fridman if Musk is the real Satoshi, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX reiterated that he was not the mysterious Bitcoin creator. When the ambiguity surrounding the founder of Bitcoin continued to be pushed, Musk took an extra long hiatus before setting up his theory about Nakamoto’s identity. According to him, computer scientist and cryptographer Nick Szabo is very likely the man who invented Bitcoin when he wrote about many of the ideas related to cryptocurrencies long before technology was born. For example, Szabo helped develop smart contracts and, prior to the invention of Bitcoin, made an early form of cryptocurrency called Bit Gold.

Musk isn’t the first to speculate that Szabo is the elusive Bitcoin founder. There have been tons of newsprint and articles online devoted to establishing the Hungarian programmer as the creator of Bitcoin, including a 2017 New York Times article that suggested he is Satoshi Nakamoto. However, while many have speculated that Szabo might be the real Satoshi, the man himself has repeatedly denied these rumors. So it’s not immediately clear whether he knows about it Musks Hypothesis and, if so, what he has to say about it.

The real identity of the Bitcoin inventor remains a mystery, and there are many claimants to this title. An Australian programmer named Craig Wright is one of them. However, many watchers believe that he is a scam that has nothing to do with creating the world’s most popular cryptocurrency. However, Wright recently won a Bitcoin-related lawsuit filed against him by the family of his former business partner, Dave Kleiman. In their verdict, the Florida jury apparently agreed with Wright’s claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto, while awarding Kleiman’s estate $ 100 million in intellectual property rights.
