EOS supplies weapon system to US Army

The US subsidiary of defense manufacturer Electro Optic Systems is delivering one of its R400S Mk2D remote weapon stations (pictured) to the US Army for its capabilities to be assessed.

The system, which is used for armored vehicles in the armies of a number of countries, as well as the Australian Bushmaster, will be delivered to the Combat Capabilities Development Command Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center at Picatinny Arsenal.

Phil Coker, CEO of EOS Defense Systems USA, BG (retired), said, “EOS appreciates the opportunity to support the Armaments Center’s efforts to find ways to increase the lethality of the Army’s maneuvering powers.

“CCDC-AC is doing important work to significantly expand the capabilities of our armed forces at a crucial point in our history. We are honored to be part of this critical effort. “

The CCDC-AC decided for the further capability analysis for the 4-axis remote weapon station R400S Mk2 D (R400).

The R400S weighs less than 1000 pounds and the system is known for its light weight, precision, platform versatility, and ability to support multiple weapons, according to EOS.

Production of the system began at the EOS facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The delivery should take place before the end of October.
