The war between Binance Smart Chain [BSC] and the Ethereum network is getting more and more intense with the massive DeFi activity. The competition for a more efficient and better blockchain is far from over and alternates, which nobody ever expected.
Ethereum maximalist reportedly provided a contract called “TANKS OF TIENANMEN” to the Binance Smart Chain. This was in response to a series of tweets from Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, who said, “Ethereum is a network for rich people, but soon these people will be poor.“
What was the point of the “attack” on Binance Smart Chain?
As CZ criticized Ethereum highlighting its Achilles heel: high feesThe ETH community struck back by entering into a contract on a controversial Chinese issue related to the infamous Tiananmen Square protests, which were student demonstrations that took place in Tiananmen Square in 1989 Beijing took place.
Binance Smart Chain has witnessed one for most of the year larger daily transaction volume than Ethereum. When Ethereum’s fees became restrictively high, many people were encouraged to bet on an alternative despite previous views on centralization and censorship by one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
Decentralization cannot be taught in a day, and even if the creation of BSC in itself, as most experts claim, goes against the ethos of this industry, it still trumps it, at least it is currently much better than Ethereum in terms of activity .
Hence, Ethereum’s maximalist created a contract that Binance could essentially get into trouble for if not abolished.
But was the point made?
According to a few in the community, the consequence of this stunt could potentially cause physical harm to Binance employees. Some claimed the move was not necessary as it is already known that Binance Smart Chain is central and CZ can terminate the contract at any time.
Commenting on the weekend fiasco, founding partner of Primitive Crypto, Dovey Wan believes it would have no impact on Binance. you Tweet read,
“Literally zero impact LOL. Just show how childish they are and don’t take a page that just comments on this behavior. The Chinese government couldn’t even shut down Huobi / Okex while operating mostly on the mainland, and what can they do with BSC again? “
She defended Binance Smart Chain and went on to say that the last contract had nothing to do with “Cypherpunk spirit” and that “Cypherpunk can do a lot better”. The exec added:
“If the people of Ethereum believe that the future of Ethereum is as bright as Vitalik fell silent, they should know that such a naive ‘attack’ can do little harm to BSC.”
