SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 3, 2021 – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Kava Labs ™, an open-source, non-custodial developer of financial products and services for decentralized finance (DeFi) is sponsoring a Cosmos HackAtom VI challenge based on aims to drive the development of DeFi innovation with the Cosmos SDK.
As one of the silver sponsors for the upcoming HackAtom VI hackathon, Kava Labs is focusing on the DeFi category. For the challenge, developers are tasked with creating an innovative protocol for autonomous options as a Cosmos SDK module.

Kava is preparing to incorporate Cosmos’ Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) into the upcoming Kava 9 mainnet upgrade. The HackAtom Challenge gives Cosmos developers an early opportunity to build for the Kava ecosystem and potentially get additional acceleration for their project from the Kava Ignition Fund.

HackAtom VI kicks off on November 11th with a personal event in Lisbon, Portugal and runs through December 8th. Developers will face challenges in seven categories with a total of over $ 1 million in ATOM awards.
