An Athlone customer managed to get hold of goodies worth € 159.38 for a merry Lidl Christmas as part of the retailer’s latest fundraising campaign.

Noreen Gilchrist, pictured above with her daughter, recently took part in their annual Trolley Dash festive fundraiser to benefit JIGSAW.

Westmeath raised over € 4,947 this year to support mental health youth. Overall, Lidl Ireland has raised over 280,000 euros to support its charity partner, according to its own information.

The fundraising initiative, now in its 7th year, has received phenomenally broad support from generous customers in all stores.

Last week, won customers set off to collect their Christmas purchases as part of the festive fundraising campaign and packed over 170 truckloads of groceries just in time for Christmas.

For two weeks a year in November, Trolley Dash tickets are sold nationwide in Lidl branches for only € 1 each.

Since its inauguration in 2014, the festive fundraiser has raised over 2 million euros for the supermarkets’ charity partners and given away lots of Christmas shopping to the lucky winners.

Owen Keogh, Head of CSR at Lidl Ireland, spoke about the success of this year’s Trolley Dash and said it was an incredible milestone to have raised over € 280,000 at this year’s Trolley Dash.

“It’s a fun and festive way to mobilize efforts in support of a super-charity. With the restraints of the past two years, taking care of the big and small of the local community is more important than ever. The entire Lidl team.” Ireland is encouraged by the generosity and generosity that so many clients have wanted to contribute to a cause that has a real impact on those who seek assistance in times of need, ”he added.

Upon receiving the charity donation, Joseph Duffy, CEO of Jigsaw noted that the demand for our services and support across Ireland continues to rise significantly and that it is so important that young people, their families, teachers and communities know we are here to support them.

“Many thanks to Lidl Ireland for this incredible donation from Trolley Dash, made possible by your generous customers, when and where they need us.”

Trolley Dash is just one of many initiatives by Lidl Ireland to raise funds for Jigsaw – the National Center for Youth Mental Health – and to engage customers and local communities with various activities.
