The Nashville Predators, due to host the Avalanche on Thursday, announced Wednesday that they have six players and four coaches on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.
The game on Thursday should continue to take place in the Bridgestone Arena. The NHL currently has 64 players and staff on the COVID absentee list and four games have been postponed since Monday, including three with the Calgary Flames.
The Avs also have a player on the COVID list, defenseman Devon Toews, who was added on Tuesday ahead of Colorado’s 4-2 win over New York Rangers. Toews, who is symptomatic, is not expected to return to the lineup until after Christmas.
The Nashville players unlikely to play Thursday due to COVID include strikers Mikael Granlund, Ryan Johansen, Matt Luff, Michael McCarron, Philip Tomasino and defenseman Ben Harpur. Also on the list are head coach John Hynes and three assistants and two staff members.
