Northeastern Oklahoma A&M announced Friday that head football coach Zach Allen is stepping down to take a coaching position at Northeastern State University.
Allen was on the NEO team for 12 years and has been head coach since 2018. During his tenure, the Golden Norse set a record of 12-9. Assistant Zach Crissup will act as interim coach.
“I’d like to thank Zach for his long service at NEO,” said Sporting Director Joe Renfro. “His experience and specialist knowledge have contributed significantly to NEO’s success during his time with us, and we wish him all the best for his next step.”
Crissup returned to NEO staff in 2018 and has been the defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
Prior to joining NEO, Crissup was a linebacker and strength coach from 2010 to 2014 under head coaches Dale Patterson, Sherard Poteete and Ryan Held.
