the NEO blockchain developer noted that they are focused on building on the commitment to support application developers who are making significant contributions to the neo-blockchain ecosystem.
As mentioned in a blog post, Neo has introduced three different funding programs into the Eco Support ecosystem. The programs reportedly include General Grants, Core Developer Grants, and Research Grants.
This year’s release of Neo N3 “marked a transformative leap in Neo’s journey to building the best blockchain for dApp developers,” the update revealed.
The NEO team also noted that they were “proud and grateful to the members of the dedicated and growing community of developers around the world who made this breakthrough achievement possible”.
the Neo Foundation Provides “Collectively US $ 200 Million for Eco Support Grant Initiatives.”
As noted in the update:
“Our new programs join an existing suite of thriving initiatives that are fueling neo-blockchain development efforts large and small.”
These initiatives have so far comprised three programs: ‘
The EcoBoost program “Incubates small and medium-sized project teams developing on the Neo-Blockchain.” This program works by “building a partner network to support Neo-based projects”. EcoBoost includes partners “in areas such as media organizations, exchanges, wallets, dApp directories, educational organizations and security”.
Together, the EcoBoost partner network helps to support the entire project life cycle. This help is adapted for each individual project, ”explains the update. Support may include “help such as public relations and public relations; Token listing and liquidity stimulation; Provision of industrial resources, etc. ”, the announcement reads, adding that they“ are proud to have driven numerous successful projects such as O3 Labs, Switcheo, Liquify and many more ”.
The EcoFund program is “a mutual fund established to provide diversified aid to the Neo ecosystem while creating long-term value and sustainable returns for the Neo Foundation,” the update reads, adding that the EcoFund is in private equity and not invested in listed projects, “manages the fund’s cryptocurrency”. Assets, incubates the invested portfolio and manages post-investment projects. “
The early adoption program is “a short-term start-up support program that started in June 2021 and will run until the end of the year.” The announcement also mentioned that this program is “designed to encourage developers with promising projects to begin building on Neo N3.”
With this program, Eco Support helps developers of “selected projects with high potential in terms of financing, as well as technical and other support with high priority”.
A number of high potential projects focusing on DeFi, crowdfunding, NFTs, translation, games and more have been “added to the program this year,” the announcement confirmed.
Current program members include “TOTHEMOON, Humswap, Rentfuse, Defina Finance, Saffron Finance, NekoHit, GhostMarket, Polychain Monsters and iMe Smart Platform”.
On top of these successful programs, the NEO team is “pleased to add three new programs to round out the Eco Support ecosystem and provide a new level of completeness to drive the continued growth of the most developer-friendly blockchain in the industry.”
General scholarship program
The General Grants Program is designed to “stimulate experienced development teams to contribute to the neo-ecosystem”. The update also noted that the program “focuses on funding the development of tools and infrastructure for the Neo N3 blockchain”. Typical funding “can be anywhere from $ 5,000 to $ 50,000,” according to the update.
This program is primarily aimed at supporting teams who can carry out outstanding blockchain software development initiatives to improve the neo ecosystem. Examples of this are “developer tools such as SDKs, nodes, Layer2 protocols, IDE plugins and infrastructure protocols”.
Grants are available “for complex new projects as well as for existing projects with major new skills or upgrades”.
The update also mentioned that development teams selected for this program could “receive perks such as funding to support their projects, guidance from Neo core developers and other technical leaders, and access to developer community events such as the Neo Community Assembly.”
Core Developer Grants Program
Neo was “developed from the start through GitHub open source contributions. Anyone can contribute to Neo’s core code base (deliver new features, propose NEPs, submit patches, improve documentation, etc.).
The Core Developer Grants Program “Encourages developers who have made outstanding contributions to the Neo-Core code base to apply as core developers.”
The announcement goes on to say that the chosen “can contribute in their own way to delving deeply into Neo’s technical and technical decisions.”
Core developer “Receive a select set of permissions and awards (with accompanying expectations and responsibilities) in areas such as GitHub contribution, technical architecture and roadmap design by Neo, Neo Project GitHub management, and public presentation and media engagement on behalf of Neo.”
Core Developers can also receive “a one-year grant with a monthly grant, as well as quarterly grants based on active participation in selected neo-repositories”.
Research funding program
The Research Fellowship Program “sponsors applied research that will fuel the continued growth and development in the blockchain industry”.
The NEO team noted that it is “seeking applications from front-line researchers in areas such as universities, research institutes, laboratories and consulting firms”.
As explained in the update, grant recipients will “demonstrate the ability to make real-world improvements to the Neo blockchain in areas relevant to the Neo Foundation’s vision and roadmap”.
As mentioned in the announcement, examples relevant to the short-term roadmap include topics like cryptography, business model optimization, interoperability across blockchains, adoption in large companies, security, and more.
Typical grant funding can “range from $ 10,000 to $ 100,000”.
NEO added that they “welcome project submissions from talented developers working on a range of infrastructures and modules, application development support, and middleware and applications.”
