NHL Postpones Avalanche Wild Final, Tyson Jost Joins COVID Protocol List

Thursday’s game has been postponed.

The NHL announced on Wednesday that the Avalanche-Minnesota Wild final has been postponed due to caution due to the high number of players added to the COVID log list. Five Minnesota Wild players were added to the roster along with Colorado’s Tyson Jost hours before the postponement was announced.

A catch-up date will be announced at a later date.

The Avs have played the game three times in the past week, going 2-0-1. The first two games took place in a row in Minnesota last weekend before the Avalanche hosted Minnesota for the first of two scheduled games at the Ball Arena on Tuesday.

Fierce striker Marcus Foligno was the first player to be added to the COVID log list and the hope from Minnesota was that his COVID result was an isolated incident. The disease has since spread across the team, as Foligno was supported by Jared Spurgeon, Joel Eriksson Ek, Nick Bonino, Marcus Johansson and Nick Bjugstad.

The Minnesota Games are postponed until at least February 9th.

Colorado is currently slated to travel to St. Louis for two consecutive weekend games against the Blues starting February 6th. It is unclear whether these games would be postponed if more positive cases came off the Avalanche’s list on Thursday.
