Realme GT Neo is officially the first Dimensity 1200 smartphone

The Realme GT Neo 5G was launched today and is the crown as the first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset – at least in China.

The Dimensity 1200 is the current flagship from MediaTek. It was introduced in January of this year and is based on the 6 nm process with a peak frequency of 3 GHz. Other functions include Dual 5G, a new Mali G77 MC9 GPU, HyperEngine 3.0 for games and much more.

The Realme GT Neo is the sidekick of the Realme GT, currently the company’s best smartphone. It’s a gaming smartphone with high clock speeds, UFS 3.1 memory, a large steam chamber to reduce the internal temperature by 15 degrees and a GT mode for games. Pressing the appropriate button activates the power cores, increases the refresh rate and response rate, activates the 4D vibration motor and starts the play area.

For visual representation, the Realme GT Neo has a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch response rate of 360 Hz, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, HDR10 + and a Full HD + resolution. There is also an optical fingerprint scanner in the display.

With the Realme GT Neo we see a new design again, which consists of a matt back wall with a shiny, iridescent stripe over the cameras and the now common branding of Realme and Dare to Leap. The entire pack weighs only 179 grams and is 8.4 mm thick. It contains a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 50 W super dart charges, which is said to go from 0 to 50% in 16 minutes.

In terms of cameras, the Realme GT Neo has a main camera with 64 MP 1: 1.8 (Sony IMX682), an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view and a 2 MP macro shooter. There is also a 16MP punch-hole selfie camera. The shooting modes include night mode, portrait mode with filters, AI ID photo, etc.

Other features of the Realme GT Neo are a 3.5 mm headphone jack, two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Hi-Res certification and ready-to-use Android 11.

The Realme GT Neo is currently only available in China and costs 1,799 CNY (~ 20,500 Rs) for the variant with 6 GB + 128 GB, 1,999 CNY (~ 22,500 Rs) for the variant with 8 GB + 128 GB and 2,299 CNY (~ 26,000 Rs) for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant. Color options include Final Fantasy, Geek Silver, and Hacker Black (names machine translated).

Information currently available suggests that the Realme GT Neo India launch may not be too far off.
