What Is Ripple XRP?
Ripple (ticker symbol XRP) is an early-generation cryptocurrency platform that was launched in 2012. The Ripple crypto asset is heavily traded and quite popular, and it’s supported by several of the top online sportsbooks as a result.
In effect, XRP works the same way that all legitimate cryptocurrencies do, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, USD Coin, Chainlink, Stellar, etc. That is, it operates on an open ledger blockchain protocol, making transactions transparent and immutable.
The Ripple price hit its all-time high (ATH) of $3.40 per coin in January 2018, but it’s since dropped substantially. The Ripple price today is hovering around $0.55 to $0.60, and there is some uncertainty around the asset due to an ongoing SEC lawsuit.
However, that status has not tanked the Ripple value, though it has caused a few major exchanges – namely Coinbase and Bittrex – to delist the coin. This can complicate things for XRP gambling enthusiasts who wish to bet sports using Ripple, but XRP gambling sites continue to support the asset.
