The NEO Innovation Award from TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH goes to Rosswag Engineering, Pfinztal, Germany. The award, endowed with 20,000 euros, was given to the company because of its fast qualification process for new metallic additive manufacturing materials.

Rosswag is to incorporate its 110 years of experience in forging into the framework for the development and testing of new materials for functional, optimized metal AM parts. Since entering the AM industry, over forty materials have been atomized into metal powder and qualified for Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) AM technology via the holistic, in-house process chain at Rosswag Engineering.

“When we started with metal 3D printing in 2014, only a handful of materials were qualified for the process,” says Gregor Graf, Head of Engineering at Rosswag. “Our approach is to offer an efficient and cost-effective way of creating the basis for accelerated industrialization of metal-generative manufacturing by enabling more applications in all industries.”

The TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe is an economic and innovation initiative consisting of companies, chambers of commerce and scientific institutions in the Karlsruhe region in Germany. The annual NEO Innovation Award recognizes disruptive approaches to developing local businesses.
