SecuX publishes ADA, BSC and WalletConnect support for its crypto hardware wallets
On the first day of 2021, Cardano (ADA) was only $ 0.1753. After a sustained rally in July / August 2021, Ada became the third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization (after Bitcoin and Ethereum, respectively) and was valued at $ 2.8 at its highest point. Since Ada is one of the fastest growing chains, SecuX rides on this wave.
Hardware vs. software wallet
Keeping your valuable assets online or in software wallets can be very risky as many thefts and hacks have happened and have happened in online exchanges and software wallets. A hardware wallet is essential for the security of your cryptocurrencies as it is only connected to the internet during one transaction. That being said, the wallet is in a constant state of disconnection, both inbound and outbound, and it basically eliminates any risk of your private key being hacked. Most hardware wallets also have security functions that protect your private key.
SecuX
SecuX is a Taiwan-based blockchain company that makes the CV Magazine-recognized cross-platform crypto hardware wallets and the world’s first revolutionary crypto payment solution, Stream.
With its already impressive coin support list, SecuX released one of its biggest updates of the year on July 29, 2021, firmware version MCU 2.13 and SE version 1.87. The update included brand new functions such as WalletConnect, Binance Smart Chain, and Ada Portal as well as the brand new user interface of their SecuXess web application. The new support enables SecuX wallet users to access a wide range of DeFi apps such as Opensea and Uniswap, and to receive, send and stake Cardano ADA and BEP-20 tokens.
SecuX hardware wallets
All SecuX models are equipped with a large 2.8-inch color touchscreen, safe protection, account recoverability and support for multiple cryptocurrencies as well as Bluetooth capability (with the exception of the W10). SecuX wallets also require a One Time Password (OTP) when connecting via Bluetooth to ensure security. Bluetooth 5 has AES encryption that encrypts sensitive data during transmission. The large display offered by the SecuX Wallet also comes into play, on which you can easily check all the details during a transaction.
The wallets are also equipped with an Infineon SLE Solid Flash CC EAL5 + Secure Element Chip, which is used to securely store your unique PIN and private key. It allows zero transaction leaks and your transactions are verified without the private key ever leaving the device. The Infineon Secure Element Chip also has a security function: a self-destructive mechanism when exposed to light if someone breaks into your wallet and tries to steal the data it contains.
There is a portal
Ada Portal is the newly introduced platform from SecuX, which is dedicated to receiving, sending and staking out Cardano ADA. Access is via the SecuXess web application, and a connection check is required for additional security measures when changing from one to the other.
Binance Smart Chain
The release of support for BEP-20 tokens isn’t a surprise either, as SecuX wallets already support Binance and other smart contract chains like Ethereum’s ERC-20 and Tron’s TRC-10 and TRC-20.
Binance Smart Chain runs parallel to Binance’s native Binance Chain, allowing users to get the best of both worlds: Binance’s high transaction capacity and Binance Smart Chain’s smart contract functionality. This also paves the way for SecuX to support BSC for its Wallet Connect functionality in the future.
Wallet Connect
WalletConnect is an open protocol for connecting desktop dapps to mobile wallets using end-to-end encryption by scanning a QR code. With Wallet Connect, which is integrated in SecuX devices, users can interact with any Dapp without compromising their private keys and can check and sign transactions with their iOS device. The SecuX Wallet Connect functionality is only available to users using the SecuX iOS app, although the Android option will be available at a later date.
SecuX wallets currently support more than 1,000 different coins and tokens, including important cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Ripple, Litecoin, Dash, Dogecoin, Digibyte, Bitcoin Cash, Tron, Groestlcoin, Stellar, Binance, all ERC-20 tokens , TRC-10 and TRC-20 tokens and BEP-20 tokens.
