Stacey Dash urges women to “work harder”

Here’s advice from actress Stacey Dash to women trying to bridge the pay gap: work harder.

It is a message that fell on Meredith Viera.

The two were chatting on Wednesday episode of the Meredith Viera Show when Dash said she was using gender inequality as an “excuse”. It’s a conversation that ended just a day after comedian Amy Schumer aired her own exciting sketch on the subject.

“It’s the same with race, it’s an excuse,” said Dash, who also works on Fox News. “Stop making excuses. When opportunities arise, grab them and be prepared for them and be the best when you need to. If you have to be exceptional, be exceptional.”

Viera reminded Dash that women make 78 cents for every dollar a man makes.

“No, I know the numbers are right, but I have a feeling that your daughter can make as much money as she wants in her life, just like you. I mean look at you, “said Dash. “The success that you have.

“I’m successful, but it took me a long time,” replied Viera. “A lot of people need a lot of time. For many years I wasn’t paid the same as the boys.”

Dash said: “I think I will not put my fate in anything but my own actions and my fate in my hands. I will not be a victim.”

“I’m not saying that I’m a victim,” said Viera. “I’m mad. I don’t want to be a victim.”

“And that’s the thing, if you want to be pissed off, be pissed off and work harder for it,” Dash said. “I don’t think we’re going to complain about it – there is a law that gives us equal pay.”

“But we don’t,” said Viera. “We don’t. We don’t.”
