Stellar Health expands its advisory board with the appointment of Dr. Catherine Gaffigan, Dr. David Carmouche, Bunny Ellerin, Michael Akinyele and Dr. John Fitzgerald

DR. Catherine Gaffigan has spent the past two decades in a variety of roles in the US healthcare industry, primarily at the interface of payers and providers. She recently returned as President of Aetna, a CVS Health Company Arizona and Northwest Mountain Markets. Before joining Aetna, Dr. Gaffigan all vendor contracts, vendor relationships and innovations for vendor partnerships for Cambia Health Solutions in the Northwest. During her career, Dr. Gaffigan spent time with vendors to get positive results on their value-based arrangements. This makes her an ideal candidate for the Stellar Health Platform to grow.

Rabbit hands has dedicated her career to driving change in healthcare. She is currently the director of Columbia Business School Health management program. Bunny believes Stellar has the tools to encourage vendors to take a higher risk in their value maintenance contracts and is excited to support the team as a member of the advisory board.
Michael Akinyeleis the former founding chief innovation officer of the US Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”), the largest civil federal agency. His efforts at the VA mainly focused on the implementation of Section 152 of the MISSION Act of 2018, which approved the creation of a Center for Innovation for Care and Pay. Michael stated, “The Stellar Approach to Enabling Value-Based Incentive Models to Nursing can and should be used to strengthen Direct Contracting Entities (” DCE “) and their performance. Most recently, he led the public health effort Indiana University Health (“IUH”) and was CEO of IUH’s ACO, where he recognized the importance of enabling providers at the point of care.
