If Audi adds new e-tron models like the Q4 (and possibly a Q6 in the future), where is the first e-tron that started it all?
“The E-Tron you see here will theoretically never die, just as the Quattro from the 80s never really died. Quattro lives on in all of the cars we build today, and the E-Tron will in all of ours Vehicles live on, “said Mostafaei.
We asked Mostafaei directly if this means we won’t see a second generation E-Tron in the future. “You definitely won’t,” replied Mostafaei. “The E-Tron, as you can see, is just the beginning of all that is to come.”
Audi also confirmed to CarBuzz that it has decided to use straight numbers for its electrical products in the future, such as the Q4. Mostafaei informed us that the Q4 would have a similar footprint as the Q3, but with the internal volume of a Q5. If Audi were to bring out a Q6 e-tron, it would have the footprint of a Q5 with the interior of a Q7. Although the life of the e-tron as a stand-alone model will be short, its legacy should live on in the Audi product range.
