Ethereum wallets are applications that allow you to interact with your Ethereum account. Think of it as an internet banking app – without the bank. You can use your wallet to read your balance, send transactions, and connect to applications. You need a wallet to send funds and manage your ETH.
Ledger Nano X
This is the most modern ETH hardware wallet you can get. Ledger was a pioneer in the hardware wallet industry and supports Ethereum for all tokens in the Ethereum chain. Currently, the Ledger Ethereum integration is available through MyEtherwallet, which makes it easier for you to manage your Ethereum coin. In addition to ETH, you can also store many other coins. This is the successor to the popular Ledger Nano S. The main difference is that it has a battery and bluetooth, which has significantly increased mobility. In addition, you can manage several coins at the same time. The Ledger Nano X is just as easy to use as the Ledger Nano S I mentioned below. It’s only priced at $ 119 and all future firmware updates are free. The price also includes free shipping.
Ledger Nano S (hardware wallet)
The Ledger Nano S is one of the cheapest Ethereum hardware wallets available ($ 59). Here, Ether is saved offline on the device. Whenever you want to spend ether, Ledger signs it with the private key that is stored on the device. You can save both ETH and ETC. I’ve posted some video guides on how to use the Ledger Nano S that you need to watch. This will help you learn all about Ledger Nano S. The best thing about the Ledger Nano S is that it comes with a small OLED screen that you can use to control your transactions. The security is so tough that you could even use your Nano S device on a hacked computer.
Trezor (hardware wallet)
Trezor was the first hardware wallet invented for Bitcoin. However, Trezor can now also be used for Ethereum with the MyEtherWallet web interface. It also stores ether offline on a secure electronic chip that can only be activated when you log in with your password. It is a very light and portable device. It’s available in 3 colors – white, gray, and black – and costs $ 99.
Atomic Wallet (desktop and mobile)
Atomic Wallet is the ultimate solution for Ethereum and ERC20 tokens. The wallet allows you to store, exchange and buy ETH with a bank card. In the future, Ethereum will be available to exchange with Atomic Swaps, a fully decentralized way to exchange cryptos without the involvement of intermediaries. Atomic Wallet supports over 300 cryptocurrencies and provides you with all ERC20 tokens with its interface. Basically, you can enter a contact address and have your custom coin in your Atomic wallet. The wallet encrypts your private keys on your device and gives you full access and control over your money. Atomic Wallet is available for almost every desktop operating system and will be available on Android and iOS devices.
Guarda (desktop + mobile phone)
Guarda is a non-custody wallet for storing Ethereum. The Guarda Wallet has an intuitive user interface and offers a high level of protection. The wallet is available for desktop, mobile and web interface. When you set up a Guarda wallet, you are the only one who controls the private key. This way you have complete control over your Ethereum coins and other coins if you want to keep them on Guarda. No personal information is required to use the Guarda wallet, which has become a de facto standard among all top Ethereum wallets.
silver
Argent is the most modern mobile wallet for Ethereum. This is a unique ETH wallet that is not on hold, but you cannot save the private key. The wallet is configured with your email address and mobile number and can be restored with the same. The unique function of this wallet is the integration with Compound, Finance, which allows you to lend your Ethereum and accumulate interest. The wallet also has a dAPP browser and if you want your non-tech family and friends to use an Ethereum wallet, this is the easiest one for them and for yourself.
Exodus (desktop wallet + mobile phone)
Exodus is the world’s first multi-cryptocurrency desktop wallet. It’s free to use and has an attractive user interface. As soon as you open the Exodus wallet, a pie chart shows your entire coin portfolio. It supports seven cryptocurrencies (including Ethereum) and is the first desktop wallet to integrate ShapeShift for exchanging cryptocurrencies. However, while using Exodus one must always be connected to the internet, but no need to worry as your private keys never leave your computer. Features like one-click email recovery and backup seed keys to restore your wallet keep your money safe. Exodus now supports almost 100 cryptocurrencies! They also have multiple exchange partners (not just ShapeShift) which means they can offer more exchangeable assets. Raising liquidity from various partners has made exchanges in Exodus faster and more reliable.
Jaxx (mobile wallet)
Jaxx is a multi-asset wallet developed by Canada-based company Decentral. It supports 13 cryptocurrencies (including ETH) and has a sleek design with robust security features. On Jaxx, private keys never leave the device and features like seed keys allow you to restore your funds if necessary. It has an amazing developer community that is responsible for innovating and maintaining the product. Jaxx Wallet is available for Android, iOS, Mac OS, Windows and Linux. They’re also launching a hardware wallet in the coming months.
MetaMask (Desktop Wallet + Mobile Wallet)
MestaMask is like a browser for accessing the Ethereum network. Not only does it allow you to save and send Ethereum, it also gives you access to decentralized Ethereum apps. It has an intuitive design that allows you to quickly switch between a test network and the main Ethereum network. Here is a video that shows how MetaMask works:
MyEtherWallet (web wallet)
MyEtherWallet is different from other traditional web wallets. It’s an open source wallet with no third-party servers that you can write and access smart contracts on. It has a built-in swap function from BTC to ETH (and vice versa). You can also connect your Trezor or Ledger Nano S to access your credit in the MyEther browser environment.
