Dogecoin hit its all-time high in the first week of May, and among the first to take advantage of that profit was a US-based supercars and hypercars collector. On Instagram he has the username @cococulture_ and on May 8th he announced that he had sold 25% of his DOGE coins to order a Bugatti bolide. The meme coin had traded highs of as high as 0.724658 that day before plummeting a few hours later, with some people speculating that its big sale may have triggered the slump.
Obviously a DOGE whale, the collector decided to keep its remaining 75% for another day of profit. His move comes weeks after Elon Musk urged large DOGE whales to throw away their coins in an attempt to improve their overall health. He even offered to pay “real $” to anyone who was proven to have dropped their coins – and buying a Bugatti with Dogecoin is probably the biggest gesture of Musk’s appeal. According to the data collected by Dogecoin Rich List, a whale owns 28.7% of all Dogecoins while the top 12 whales own 50% of all available DOGE.
The Bugatti Bolide is a pure racing car from Bugatti, which was inspired by racing cars from the French automaker’s 1920s and 1930s and most recently by the Bugatti Vision Grand Turismo. It is even the same height as a Type 35 and is said to be the last Bugatti to be powered by the legendary 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine. Bugatti hasn’t specified how many units they will build, and according to their latest pricing strategy, that could cost as much as $ 10 million in the north. Driven by the same W16 engine that is also used in the Chiron, the bolide has an increased output of 1,850 hp and 1,850 Nm of torque.
